EVERYONE WANTSto be an ARTIST

“If you give people the opportunity to spend their time doing whatever they want, the majority will choose something in the arts. I don’t know why that is but, it makes me happy. I can’t really tell you the true definition of my art because I can’t draw. People do love what I make though, and I kind of like it too.”

Maserati Quattroporte Art Car

The Maserati Quattroporte Art Car is a striking collaboration between AQOMI and legendary pop artist Rahmaan Hameed. The project began with AQOMI transforming a black Maserati into a unique canvas by applying seven coats of white Plasti Dip, a liquid rubber coating commonly used to add a protective or decorative layer to surfaces. This created a canvas-like texture on the car’s exterior. AQOMI then Plasti Dipped the rims in a golden copper color, mimicking the frame of a classic artwork.

With the car prepped, Rahmaan Hameed brought it to life using a mix of spray paint, Sharpies, and acrylic paint. The result was a vibrant, eclectic masterpiece. The iconic Maserati fender vents were adorned with different colors of spray paint, designed to drip down like fluorescent blood, adding an edgy, eye-catching effect. The artwork on the car featured playful references to pop culture, including nods to Banksy, Mickey Mouse, Superman, Batman, and Pokémon.

This extraordinary art car was photographed on the streets, drawing attention and eventually being featured in newspapers. The following year, the impact of this project was evident when another Maserati was painted at Art Basel, further cementing the collaboration’s influence in the art world.

INVISIBLE SERIES - LION

The INVISIBLE SERIES – LION, created by AQOMI, is the world’s first invisible digital artwork, inspired by Salvatore Garau’s sale of an invisible sculpture for $18,000. This groundbreaking piece is the working file of a lion from AQOMI’s Animal Kingdom Collection, but with all the layers disabled, leaving only a white background.

Minted as an NFT with three copies, the first sold for 1 ETH ($4,000), and the second for 5 ETH ($20,000). To increase the value of the remaining pieces, AQOMI destroyed the third copy. The INVISIBLE SERIES – LION challenges traditional art concepts, redefining value in the digital age.
